Description:
A medium-sized (8 - 11 mm), black beetle. This species has noticeable metallic luster and longitudinal ribs in the middle each wing and it is covered by hair.
Habitat:
It is widespread in Europe north to Latvia. The larvae develop in the soil where they feed on humus and decaying plant material. The adult beetles often visit flowers to eat pollen. This is a very heat-loving species in Central and Northern Europe is only on very hot, sunny locations.
