Field Notes

Description:

White flower with five (sometimes four) petals and five leaflets on each leaf. They creep along the forest floor, popping up amongst the moss which is why it is sometimes called moss berry. The berries are edible and very tasty, but not very plentiful.

Mossy floor of a Sitka Spruce forest
