Field Notes

Description:

Walking through the land devastated by fire can be a very eerie feeling, but doing so on the side of table mountain this year yields Protea bushes in a beautiful state of seeding life. Like the gums and eucalypts in Australia, Proteas need fire to seed and these two types of Protea had their final moments in death ready for us to capture on a walk through the area of a large fire this year in Cape Town. Already with the winter rains new growth is starting.
