Purple-tipped Janolus

Medium sized Nudibranch, around 3 cm, with lots of purple-tipped cerata, hence its name. This species have been known for many years as Janolus sp until recently officially described as Janolus savinkini by Martynov & Korshunova in 2012.

There are at least 2,300 valid species of Nudibranch all over the world from tropical waters to the cold waters or North Atlantic to south Pacific but there are at least another 1,000 species of Nudibranch yet to be officially described but already recorded by divers.
