Description:

Photo take at home small moth brown and white colors around 2 cm wingspan.

Habitat:

North Carolina to Florida, west to Texas, and south in the neotropics to Brazil

Unfortunately this is not Samea ecclesialis. Spots are different (size, location) and the zig-zag line (definitely not an artefact, since it is symmetrical) on the margin belongs not to Samea ecclesialis. I just mentioned the name in my first comment, because it really looks like that one. However, only at first sight. I checked about 1000 different/similar pictures of all kind, but did not find any reasonable match. I am still pretty sure it is Crambidae, Pyraustinae and Spilomelini. That's all what I can say.
Easy one at first and immediate sight: Samea ecclesialis and then you notice the zig-zag line at the margin and you have to go diving into the literature...
