Field Notes

Description:

Blue head and thorax with a red tail tipped with black. Its wings are clear for the most part with translucent brown tips and black markings on the top of each wing tip.

Habitat:

Open grassy land.

Notes:

They seem to be a lot more abundant at this time of year and I'm spotting them all the time now the rains have started. They seem earliest dragonfly emerge in force since the rains started.
