Field Notes

Description:

Weird insect, bigger than an European honey bee (for a 1/4 of bee size) but bee usually attacks it.. is like they are competitive for the territory, I was really trying to document this attacks but they were too fast. Btw bumblebees are even bigger but didn't compete in this fights and bees don't attack them.

Habitat:

Often found in Austria, France, Germany, Romania, and Switzerland. Eurasia.
