Sorry Zlatan I got to the site on Tuesday the 27th and looked all over but it was nowhere to be found. the weather has turned hot and maybe that had an effect on it's disappearance. I'm going to submit a picture of 2 dark silver-gray almost metallic looking mushrooms. The mushrooms were only about 10 meters from that egg looking thing. Maybe thats what it was going to turn into ?
Very cool whatever it is! It is not too often you see black mushrooms
Thanks Zlatan. It seemed like a plausible idea even after I read Wikipedia's id.
Sorry if I was misleading you, Brian - can't wait to see your pics again...
I'm not sure at all. Hopefully I can get back to it next week and see.
no, I'm not sure - just looked like one I found recently... Let's wait for another week and next series of photos...
Are you sure its a puffball? It kind of looks like it is a black mushroom still in the white volva and might emerge later with a stalk
