Description:

A common tickseed, generally regarded as a weed, but has beautiful yellow petals. According to its wikipedia article, these should have produced flowers in late summer, not late spring.

Habitat:

By the lakeside of Lake Bennett, along a shady walkway under large trees.

Notes:

It is in the Sunflower family.
