Jumping Spider
Hyllus sp.
22.6748, 88.4619
Field Notes
Description:
I thought there were two drops of molten gold on the branch of the Curry patta plant very close to where the caterpillar of a Lime butterfly was resting. The two golden droplets turned out to be this spider. It is hairy and seems to have paired tubercles on the dorsal surface of its abdomen. Very wary and careful to move slowly out of sight whenever it saw the camera (or me).
Habitat:
On a Murraya koenigii plant in my yard. Urban residential area.
Notes:
It looks so peculiar...lumpy and hairy...please, I would love an ID.
