Description:
Thanks to PN user thaptor (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/12046041), I've finally been able to ID this guy (hope I'm correct)! Many thanks! The picture is far from great, but I thought the spotting is interesting.
Weevil of about 8mm from snout to tip of the abdomen; orange in colour with black head and a cross-shaped black stripe running from behind the head over thorax and elytra, extending laterally over the two conspicuous spines on the weevil's rear end; legs and straight clubbed antennae are also black.
Habitat:
Rainforest around lake Eacham in the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland, Australia.
