Field Notes

Description:

I have seen these birds in many places, but always close to water, along the shoreline of beaches, lakes and rivers, on rocks by the shore, or in muddy fields in the highlands. When flying they stay close to the ground or water. I think this is the first time I have seen one perched on a high wire. Perhaps it thinks it is a Woodswallow and wants to copy them!

Habitat:

Roadside wires near coastal park.
