Field Notes

Description:

The flowers have 5 petals, and are rose-purple or violet-purple in color. Flowers have ten stamens. The leaves are palmately lobed with five or seven deeply cut lobes, each of which is again cleft and toothed.

Habitat:

On a narrow path next to a steep river bank in a deciduous forest at Roaring Brook Nature Center.
