Description:

Family: Sphingidae
Subfamily: Sphinginae
Identification: Forewing is dark gray with a blue tint. Hindwing is black with a deeply divided yellow patch at the base, and a translucent area that ends sharply at the black margin.
Wing Span: 4 5/16 - 5 7/8 inches (11 - 15 cm).
