Description:

The biggest spider I have ever witnessed in person, ever. I have not personally seen a single spider as big as this fella, and he's been camped out in my basement for over a week now.

This guy is well over an inch long, and is very, very fast. I adore him, yet I haven't had the courage to close much closer than 1x magnification with my macro setup. I'm considering giving him a name if he's around much longer, but first I'd like to know what species he is.

Originally, I was thinking Hogna Sp, or Hogna Aspersa, but it seems to me that it's going to be difficult nailing down the exact species. Definitely in the Hogna genus, I know that for sure.
