Field Notes

Habitat:

Drainage in mixed woodland

Notes:

This small Myiarchus flycatcher is relatively common in Southeast Arizona, but is extremely local in the Mazatzal Mountains of Maricopa County, Arizona. The Slate Creek Divide is thought to be the only location where this species breeds in Maricopa Co. Tommy, Gordon, and I enjoyed seeing several of these birds. They did not come out into the open too much, so photography was a challenge.
