Field Notes

Description:

These beautiful bright yellow flowers are a very welcome sight as they signify the early days of spring...woohoo!! It is a plant native to Britain and as its bright yellow glossy flowers suggest it is a member of the buttercup family, however it has deep tuberous roots so although a delight to see growing wild it would take over in any garden so is sometimes considered a pest plant in the wrong environment.

Habitat:

seen growing by a stream in local woodlands.
