Field Notes

Description:

Peculiar little Tiger Moth about 1 cm long. It looks pale grey because the wing scales reflect light. It is actually much darker. It has two yellow bands on the wings and a bright yellow thorax and head. Family Erebidae, Arctiinae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light, Finca Argovia, Ruta de Café, Soconusco Area of Chiapas, about 2 hours north of Tapachula.
