Description:

Fuzzy yellow fly. I'd say a bit smaller than a Honeybee.

Habitat:

Deciduous hardwood forest

Notes:

These flies would hover above the trail, occasionally landing for a minute or two. Spotted on Hawthorne trail.

Yeah, especially since there was not much in bloom so there wasn't much reason for them to stop moving.
