Field Notes

Description:

Its preferred method of locomotion is quadrupedal walking with minimal leaping.

Habitat:

rainforest, 1400m

Notes:

When I arrived at Yotoco natural reserve this red howler monkey was eating leaves on a tree right at the campsite in plain view. I knew I was going to like this place. Shortly after this my guide pointed out a sloth, the only one I saw on my trip, see my last spotting.

Yeah, I was lucky he was right on the edge of the forest out in the open more.
Awwww I find it hard to take photos em them here in the rainforest. He's yumming away on the fruits of the Bacano Tree (Cecropia peltata)
