Field Notes

Description:

Again, I'm not sure of this cicada ID and am open to corrections. In my 1/8 acre of yard I counted 221 of these emerging this morning through afternoon. I posted to a neighborhood group and someone suggested they could be brood X stragglers.

Habitat:

On the border between a riparian woodland/floodplain and a manicured housing complex.

Notes:

We experienced 5 days of temps in the 80s followed by thunderstorms and temps in the 70s.
