Field Notes

Habitat:

common near most kinds of freshwater, including rivers and streams, as well as near the sea coast

Notes:

There were a few of these on the beach this morning but not together they seemed to be solitary working separate rock jetties or patches of shore line. These are in no-breeding or juvenile plumage, but with their peculiar teetering walk.
