Thanks bayucca! I don't know what to look for when it comes to caterpillars, but Hemiargus ceraunus looks good to me! I'll go ahead and go with that, appreciate your help :)
Definitely a Lycaenidae! Tricky to ID, on bugguide you often have not much pictures, oh, there are many, many pictures to check... Closest guess is Hemiargus ceraunus, the color of the margin might be variable. I think it is not Phaeostrymon alcestis, that margin is not reddish: http://bugguide.net/node/view/392875/bgimage http://bugguide.net/node/view/389977/bgpage Best way to get closer: check season, check most common ones around you, check the Texas Blues (like ZZtop), check exact ranges and voilà there is yours... Good luck
Try to look for Lycaenidae, Hairstreaks... http://bugguide.net/node/view/279755/bgpage
Hi Ashley, neat little caterpillar. It reminds me of caterpillars from Family Lycaenidae but I am not totally sure. http://bugguide.net/node/view/194/bgpage I'll keep an eye out for a closer match but that's all I have for you at this time. Hope it helps!
