will add a pic of retreat on leaf soon.
I just discovered that this guy lives on the orange tree. I saw it descend on the leaf litter on a strand of web. It also confirms that the spider retreats which i have seen on the leaves, belongs to him.
Thank you J. Your ID is perfect!! The link is awesome and is so close to the spotting. The similarity is great!.
You are very welcome!Nice to see you back after so long.
Thanks for sharing your photo technique, Jemma. That's how I get my closeup's now- close distance (when possible) an cut and crop. Lighting is key.
Karen, this is not a macro lens, but a shot taken from a very close distance with no zoom. After that it was cut and crop. Jumping spiders are awesome. They are friendly. They look at you. Best subjects. Having good light is another advantage, Hope this helps!
I LOVE the detail in this photo! Are you using a macro lens? Now I'm motivated to get a better close up lens. Thanks for posting.
thank you forest Dragon. The brown patches and the eyes ,blend in! Good observation!
This is definitely a Jumping Spider. You can tell by the eye arrangement. http://bugguide.net/node/view/1962 I am not sure of the species at this time. Great macros!
don't lynx spiders need bristles at right angles to their legs, or is that just a feature of my local ones. This spider just looks hairy
any chances this is a lynx spider?
