Field Notes

Description:

Bright yellow bird with olive green wings, comparable in size to a cardinal.

Habitat:

Eating insects in a tall oak tree in Central Texas.

Notes:

There was a pair (male and female) of these bright yellow birds flitting around in a tall oak tree in my backyard. The size was comparable to a cardinal. They appeared to be eating some insects on the tree and I heard a soft snap, snap sound. They were not eating together and did not stay still for more than 1-2 seconds and rarely came out to far end of the branches where I could get a better picture.
