Field Notes

Description:

This green iguana differs from all others that I have seen in this area of South Florida in that its entire nose and upper lip are light blue in color. Even its three rostral horns are blue! It is about 3.5 feet long.

Habitat:

Along an inland fresh-water canal in western Boca Raton, FL.

Notes:

I have seen many iguanas and have posted several other sightings. Though I have seen some with hints of blue on them, I have never seen one with a totally blue face. From the way the color is distributed, I don't think he stuck his nose in a can of baby blue paint.
