Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized moth, about 50mm wingspan. Upper wings pale green with brownish pattern, underwings pale earthy brown, with dark brown pattern.

Habitat:

Here, seen during the night-time and attracted to the light in our garden. Located at outskirts of Dubrovnik, on lower slopes of Srdj mountain, the garden is terraced and covered in Mediterranean fruit trees (carobs, agrumes, kiwi, figs, pomegranate) and spontaneous vegetation. In spring, these terraces are overgrown in beautiful dense carpet of spontaneous Mediterranean herbs and melliferous flowers, while in the summer most of this vegetal cover is dry and gone.
