Description:

Houttuynia cordata is a creeping herb reaching about 30-50 cm high. The stems are green. The leaves are heart-shaped, and purple underneath.

Habitat:

Often cultivated in gardens, it can grow on forest floors and on the margins of freshwater like lakes and ponds.
