Description:

This great blue heron waited motionless in the weeds by the canal bank for a fish to come by, and then stabbed it with his beak. He flipped the fish around and swallowed it whole. Some of the pictures show it slowly passing down his throat. Then he went for a walk to work off his meal.

Habitat:

Along an inland fresh water canal in western Boca Raton, FL
