Field Notes

Description:

Tiny anole hatchlings. Mostly golden brown. Diamond markings on its back and a lighter patch on its head.
Sorry about bad quality pictures, raining fiercely, only having my iphone, only one hand available, very quick wiggly creature!

Habitat:

In our garden in Windwardside, near the Volcano Mount Scenery on Saba in the Caribbean Sea.

Notes:

Found some eggs ( 10, unfortunately 1 broke) while gardening. (see spotting https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/80272977 )
I put the eggs in the same soil in a container in the garden. After a heavy night of rain I was worried about them drowning so went to check. Three had hatched and were climbing up the wall of the container!
Now I had seen what hatched I tipped the container so they could climb out on there own after hatching.

The hatchlings look very much like anolis sagrei. Although there is no record so far as I can find about the Anolis Sagrei being on Saba. If anyone knows more please do tell!
