Description:
Chocolate brown, arrowhead-shaped moth with two white diagonal stripe bands across each wing - the lower band is much shorter than the upper band. The wingspan is about 25 mm.
Habitat:
It is found from Quebec and Ontario, down through the eastern United States to Florida and Texas. This one was photographed near the edge of a southern deciduous forest in Edgefield County, SC.
Notes:
The larvae feed on Prunus americana and Sabatia. According to BAMONA, this is a new species record for Edgefield County, SC. Hodges #8764.
