Field Notes

Description:

A dark brown (maroon) beetle about 20 mm long. Elytra was deeply grooved. A narrow head showed large eyes, protruding mouthparts, and long antennae. Legs had thick femurs and orange tarsi.

Habitat:

Spotted under bright lights near a sports field.

Notes:

Family: Tenebrionidae
Subfamily: Alleculinae
