Earwig infected by fungus

Earwigs are insects that are characterized by having at the tip of the abdomen (apex) a well developed pincer. The name of the order (Dermaptera) means dermatos = skin; pteron = wing, referring to the texture of the wings. They are elongated , with two pairs of wings and mouthparts of the chewing kind. Have clear or yellowish brown color . The scissor-shaped appendage on the tip of the abdomen serves
to help open the wings, capture prey and defend themselves. The young resemble with adults , but the wings are not developed . They don't offer any kind of danger to men.
They inhabit places with high humidity, such as cracks, dead plants and under bark. They are found worldwide , except the poles and are nocturnal
Omnivorous diet , ie feed on all kinds of food. Breeding females care for the eggs until they hatch. The average number of eggs per clutch is around 25. After the incubation period, around seven days, the nymphs hatch and begin to feed on eggs and small caterpillars. Nymphal period ranges around 35-40 days.
