Field Notes

Description:

We saw a couple of carpenter bees and found evidence of their burrowing (sawdust in the boardwalk fence). This one was lying on the wood, half dead, hardly moving. We put it on a leaf for the children to get a closer look.

Habitat:

We found it on our walk of Wright's Bluff Nature Trail. We were on the board walk with swamp grass on either side that takes you to the water.
