Field Notes

Description:

Another courtship display by adult Trumpeter Swans in the company of their young

Habitat:

In an open area of the lake being kept ice-free by the river flowing into it

Notes:

Another example of what I believe to be a courtship display by already attached Trumpeter Swans in the presence of their young, once again taken three days after Valentine's Day but typically observed for at least two weeks prior and up to two weeks after said day.

Thank you, Stefania!! They are, aren't they?! They remind me of all the fairy tales I read as a child... :-)
