@fred: Dou you have any other picture of it, for example one, where we can see the hindwings? Even it is a "bad" one ;-)
I would agree with Cyanopepla sp. I checked all the available literature, even older descriptions, but did not find any reasonable match. I also asked Michel Laguerre and he also did not find any closer match for a species. It could be an undescribed one or a color variation. The best match I found would be Cyanopepla girardi, but unfortunately the spots, whcih are on the same place and of the same size, are completely white, not such a bright and clear red like in this one.
