Field Notes

Description:

Tall gray heron with black eyebrows and long yellow bill. This great blue heron (42-52" in size) did not like me getting too close and took off for the trees. They are amazing to watch taking off in flight. Such big wings.

Habitat:

St Marks National Wildlife Refuge, St Marks, florida.
