Field Notes

Description:

A common dragonfly. This was hanging around some flowers in front of our house and made for very good photo taking as it insisted on returning to almost exactly the same perch every time. There was a storm coming so perhaps it was battening down the hatches (in a figurative sense)?

Habitat:

Ponds, but then the only water nearby where I saw this was the pool and that most certainly lacked dragonflies. At least, I hope. I don't want to be swimming in dragonfly eggs!

Notes:

I like the last picture because of the reflection in its eyes.
