Field Notes

Description:

An Insects Pupa: I went into the garage, to take the garbage container out. After I removed the garbage container, I saw a small, dark object, lying on the concrete floor, where the garbage container used to be. I picked this object up, and it looked like the pupa of an insect. The color of this pupa, was black. This pupa was one and one fourth of an inch long, and three fourths of an inch wide. One end of this pupa, was curved to the right. This pupa was shaped like the letter "J". On the other end of this pupa, were two, round circles. These two, round circles, looked like where the eyes were. The body of this pupa, was in segments. I picked this pupa up with my fingers, and this pupa felt very light.

Habitat:

I found the pupa of an insect, lying on the concrete floor, inside my garage, and behind the garbage container. An insects pupa, can be found, where ever this insect, decides to go into its pupal stage.
