Lovely! This is not poisonous, but members of the genus Orgyia can cause skin irritations in people with sensitive skin. Please verify Orgyia detrita, as Orgyia leucostigma and a few others are quite similar.
Looks like this one will turn into a moth. By the way, I have moved this to the "Arthropods" category.
I know it is a poisonous caterpillar, but what will it turn into?
