Description:

These are the buds of the female willow tree which grow a furry down as opposed to the male willow tree which has yellow catkins as seen in this spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/20471128. The seeds from these buds are uaually released around May.

Habitat:

seen at the entrance to woodlands in Rotherham.
