Con la llegada de las lluvias, en el mes de Marzo y Abril millones de cangrejos salen del bosque a las orillas del mar ... con el fin de llegar a la costa aparearse y continuar con su ciclo de vida

Actually most of the ones you see in this pictures are dead because of vehicles...

Cars buses.. do run over them, in some places they have build littles tunnes so the crabs can go under... but there is no way to do that all along the road... sometimes the amounts of crabs strike out tires.

Do cars really just run over them? So tragic. They are so beautiful. Does this migration cause economic problems? There was a stand in our local fair last week selling this very crab ( and little green turtles) as pets. They almost always all die.
