Field Notes

Description:

When I started preparing my photos for this spotting, I had decided that I would use the name Dysdercus poecilus Herrich-Schäffer, but as soon as I looked at my last picture and saw the ventral view, I could tell that it was not going to be an "easy" spotting. So, until I can find a match for the underside of this bug, it will have to be Dysdercus sp.

Habitat:

Spotted on an unidentified flower at the side of a track, leading into some rice fields.
