Field Bindweed

Some field bindwell on the side of the road. This is in the same group as the morning glory family. Despite it's beautiful flowers, it's an invasive species here and considered a problematic one. It's tough to get rid of because it's so resilient and grows rapidly. A study in 1998 showed that this plant did almost 400 million dollars in damage to agricultural crops alone. Bindweed also contains several alkaloids such as tropine and psuedo tropine. Just not a fun plant to have around at all.
