Indian shot (Κάννα η Ινδική)

Canna indica, more commonly called achira or C. edulis in Latin America, has been a minor food crop cultivated by Native Americans for thousands of years. It is a plant species of the Canna genus, belonging to the family Cannaceae, and native to much of South America, Central America, the West Indies, Mexico, and the southeastern United States (Florida, Texas, Louisiana, and South Carolina). It is also naturalized in much of Europe, sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and Oceania.
The pictured flowered plant was spotted in the yard of the Archaeological Myseum of Volos city, Greece.
