Congratulations Yeung PK, your Pingasa ruginaria moth is our Spotting of the Day: "Master of blending! Our Spotting of the Day, Pingasa ruginaria, is a species of moth of in the family Geometridae. On landing, this moth consistently takes a typical posture with its forewings stretched forward. The dorsal pattern on its forewings and hindwings allow for perfect blending against the bark of a tree, especially one with lichen as seen here. Its underside is actually brightly colored".
