Really beautiful Click Beetle. How long was it?
is the closest one though, i'm not sure about the head coloration, Exclamationis looks really diferent and varians has almost the same pattern of this one
In fact it was not a c. vespertinus, is a Conoderus varians! Thanks a lot bayucca
Conoderus looks pretty good, but I am sceptic about Vespertinus. I did not find a reference from Colombia. There are at least 15 different species in Colombia. Similar with yours might be Exclamationis and Varians. You will see a great variability and this median dark band might be important. http://www.sdstate.edu/ps/Severin-McDaniel/project-elater/caribbean-atlantic-southernnorthamerica/costa-rica/elateridae/images/Monocrepidius-exclamationis22.jpg http://www.sdstate.edu/ps/Severin-McDaniel/project-elater/caribbean-atlantic-southernnorthamerica/costa-rica/elateridae/conoderus.cfm
