Field Notes

Description:

3cm on the long side. Pale reddish cap with white gills and very pale pink stem. No noticeable scent among the humus. Velvety to touch

Habitat:

Among the roots of a red gum, very old and well-established tree in remnant forest, pea gravel and denuded soils, Casuarina and red gum, Scribbly Gum

Notes:

This is the only one I can find on that entire Dog Scat Ridge (polite version of my name for the place) so I have not disturbed it in the hope it will propagate and then I can pick one for a spore print. Russula identification from gully.moy
