Field Notes

Description:

This osprey nest looks quite large up on this high platform. Someone built a platform next to the Crooked River in Georgia and this osprey took advantage of it. If you look closely, there is a lot of spanish moss in this nest. I actually saw another bird approach the nest but she chased them away and went right back to her nest. I even witnessed her cleaning the nest. A couple of loose feathers came flying out. Interesting spotting and fun to watch.

Habitat:

This osprey nest was spotted right off the Crooked River in St Marys Georgia.
