Description:

I just discovered this turtle/tortoise digging a apparent egg laying nest in my front yard. I am not sure what it is I can't find it on any lists of hard shell reptiles of New England. She has been there for several hours and appears to have broken through the hard soil and is digging down. I won't get too close to bother her.

Notes:

About one foot long 6 to 7 inches wide thick bode . All dark green no other color showing at all.
